KVR Summit Challenge 2026
Race Overview

The KVR Summit Challenge is a monthly trail running series designed to promote local tourism through athletics and outdoor adventure. Each month, participants take on a challenging 20–25 km trail route to one of the four iconic peaks surrounding the Kathmandu Valley: Phulchoki, Shivapuri, Bhasmasur, and Chandragiri.
Following two successful seasons of the KVR Summit Challenge, we are excited to introduce new concepts and challenges that will make the races even more competitive while creating a family-friendly atmosphere where everyone can participate. Family members of all ages and abilities can enjoy different distances and share a common appreciation for nature and the outdoors.
For those new to trail running or anyone who prefers to enjoy the mountain scenery at a more relaxed pace, we offer a 7–10 km Fun Run/Hike. This shorter route is perfect for beginners, families, and friends looking for an enjoyable day in the hills. Over the past few years, we have received many requests for a shorter distance option to make the event more accessible and family-friendly. We are delighted to introduce this opportunity for our growing community of runners, who have become like a second family to us.
The Trailmandu Nepal team is made up of passionate runners united by a shared vision: to promote sustainable tourism in Nepal through adventure sports while encouraging healthier lifestyles, stronger communities, and a more active nation.
