Organized by Trailmandu Nepal, the KVR Summit Challenge is a monthly trail-running series designed to bring runners closer to nature while showcasing the incredible outdoor adventure opportunities surrounding the Kathmandu Valley.
The new season takes runners across some of the valley’s most iconic summits, with challenging long-distance trail races and shorter fun-run and hike options for beginners, families and outdoor enthusiasts.

What Is the KVR Summit Challenge?
The KVR Summit Challenge is a series of mountain trail races built around the Kathmandu Valley Rim (KVR) and its surrounding peaks.
Rather than being a single race, the challenge is designed as a journey. Each stage explores a different mountain, landscape and trail system, giving participants the opportunity to experience the valley from a completely different perspective.
The long courses generally range from 20 to 25 kilometres, while shorter 7–10 km options provide an accessible introduction to trail running and hiking.
