Trailmandu 10K Flood Relief Run: Run for a cause

This September 19th, Trailmandu is bringing the running and outdoor community together for the 10K Flood Relief Run, a community-driven trail running and hiking event created to raise funds for people affected by flooding in Nepal.

When communities are affected by floods, recovery is not only about rebuilding homes and infrastructure—it is about standing together and supporting people when they need it most.

The event is more than a race. It is an opportunity to turn every kilometre into a message of solidarity, compassion, and action.

Run for Relief. Run for Nepal.

The Trailmandu 10K Flood Relief Run invites runners, hikers, outdoor enthusiasts, families, and members of the wider community to come together and contribute to flood-relief efforts through participation.

The event will take place on 19 September at Swayambhu, approximately 100 metres from the Ring Road.

Participants can choose to run or hike the 10-kilometre route while helping generate financial support for communities affected by floods.

Trailmandu believes that sport can be a powerful platform for positive social action. Running brings people together across backgrounds, ages, and abilities—and this event is an opportunity to use that collective energy for a meaningful cause.

Juniper Trust to Contribute Approximately US$500

A major contribution to the fundraising effort will come from Juniper Trust, which has committed approximately NPR 100,000 (around US$500) in support of the flood-relief initiative.

Trailmandu is grateful for this support and for the trust placed in the event and its community-led approach.

With Juniper Trust's contribution included, Trailmandu is aiming to raise approximately US$1,000 in total through the event.

The remaining amount will be generated through participant registration and community support.

Our Goal: US$1,000 for Flood Relief

Our fundraising target is intentionally simple:

US$1,000 for flood relief.

Half of this target is expected to come through the generous contribution from Juniper Trust, while the Trailmandu community and event participants will help raise the remaining amount.

Every registration matters.

Every participant matters.

And every contribution, regardless of size, can help demonstrate that Nepal's running and outdoor community is willing to stand together during difficult times.

Connecting Sport, Community and Climate Action

Nepal has always been vulnerable to natural hazards, including floods and landslides. Increasing climate variability and extreme weather events make community preparedness, resilience, and responsible environmental action increasingly important.

For Trailmandu, the connection between trail running, outdoor recreation, conservation, and climate action is fundamental.

The 10K Flood Relief Run is therefore not simply a fundraising event. It is also a reminder that the landscapes where we run, hike, and explore are connected to the communities that live around them.

By bringing people outdoors for a common purpose, Trailmandu hopes to encourage a culture where adventure and social responsibility go hand in hand.

More Than a 10K

You do not need to be an experienced runner to take part.

Whether you are a competitive runner, a recreational athlete, a hiker, or simply someone who wants to support flood-affected communities, the event is designed to bring people together.

You can run the full 10 kilometres, enjoy the trail at your own pace, or participate as a community member supporting the cause.

The most important goal is not the finishing time.

It is showing up.

Join Trailmandu

Trailmandu invites the running, hiking, adventure, and wider Nepalese community to join the 10K Flood Relief Run on 19 September.

Together, with the support of Juniper Trust and the participation of runners and outdoor enthusiasts, we hope to reach our US$1,000 fundraising goal and turn a day of running into meaningful support for communities affected by floods.
