Overview Long Trail 20km
KVR Summit Challenge #5 is the final race of the season, featuring a demanding summit run to Jamacho Temple inside Shivapuri–Nagarjun National Park.
The race starts 1.5 km from Swayambhu Ring Road, near the Single Tree, at Pauna Home, a small restaurant with a great atmosphere. From the very start, the course goes straight uphill. The first 1 km follows a narrow single track leading into the National Park, where runners join a jeep road and take a right turn toward Raniban and Phulbari Gate.
Just 10 meters past the National Park gate, runners will reach Checkpoint 1 (CP-1), the main refill point. From here, the course begins a 4.5 km sustained climb, featuring long staircases, short runnable sections, but mostly continuous ascent through dense forest.
The climb leads all the way to Jamacho Temple, the highest point of the course, where Checkpoint 2 (CP-2) is located. This is the summit checkpoint and turn-around point, where runners will be checked and guided before beginning the descent.
After Jamacho, runners follow the road briefly before being directed back onto the trail. The return route follows almost the same trail back to the finish line, offering a fast and technical downhill. total distance is around 20 km only, Runners must strictly follow the PINK/ORANGE course markings throughout the race. Green markings belong to a different route and must not be followed.
Overview Short Trail 10km
The race starts 1.5 km from Swayambhu Ring Road, near the Single Tree, at Pauna Home. The course mainly follows the Monkey Trail, with a few changes.The first section includes two short climbs. At around 4 km, you will reach a checkpoint. After the checkpoint, expect a gradual uphill, followed by an easy, runnable trail.
Please be aware that local dogs may be present on some sections. Stay calm, stop if needed, walk slowly, and call them by their color they are harmless.The route has many turns, so follow the GREEN ribbons and PINK spray markings carefully at all times.This is a scenic trail with forests, flowers, and birds so enjoy the nature, but stay focused on the course.
